New Simulation Capabilities

Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire incorporates numerous enhancements to simulation capabilities, across a broad range of applications, from Behavioral Modeling to Pro/MECHANICA. The Pro/MECHANICA release, simultaneous with the release Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire, is the single largest to date, featuring more than 130 projects that enable designers to virtually prototype designs faster and more efficiently than ever.

Usability And Functionality
Integral to the Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire release are enhancements to both the functionality--such as Global optimization in BMX--and the usability of PTC simulation products.
  • Enhancements To Workflow and UI
  • CFD Data Import Into Pro/MECHANICA Thermal
  • BMX Enhancements
  • Global Optimization Capability In BMX
  • BMX and Pro/MECHANICA integration

  • Ease Of Administration
  • No Longer a Need To Manage Integrated Mode config.mech/mda/mdb filesM
  • Pro/MECHANICA and Pro/ENGINEER On the Same Installation CD

  • Improved Model Idealization Capabilities
  • Robustness And Performance
Not only has meshing and solution performance enjoyed huge gains in Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire, but Pro/MECHANICA also includes new functionality that allows for the analysis of assemblies and sheet metal parts with unparalleled speed. This capability is called Pro/MECHANICA Assembly Modeling.
  • Pro/MECHANICA Meshing Improvements Of Up To 4X!
  • Reductions In Solver Memory Usage Of Up To 40%
  • Solver Solution Time Improvements Of Up To 3X!
  • Assembly Modeling Methodology
  • Completely Redesigned Results Capabilities
The post-processing area includes more enhancements than any other area of simulation in the Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire release. The largest improvement is a fundamental redesign of the workflow of defining results windows in Pro/MECHANICA. Results enhancements range from a new graphing tool to the ability to add notes and annotations to results windows.
  • New Graphing Capabilities Shared Between BMX, Pro/MECHANICA, and MDX
  • Greater Control
  • Export To Excel
  • Ability To Graph Over Multiple Entities

  • Redesigned Workflow For Defining Results Windows
  • Use of More Pro/ENGINEER Modeling Data In Results
  • Named Views
  • Assembly Structure and Layers Visibilities

  • Results Annotations
  • Reducing The Reliance On Standalone Pro/MECHANICA
A major focus of the Pro/MECHANICA Wildfire release was to add stand-alone UI functionality into the integrated mode modeling environment. Users now have full access to Pro/MECHANICA meshing in Integrated mode, along with many other modeling and results capabilities.
  • Full AutoGEM Capabilities In Integrated Mode
  • More Model Error Checking Capabilities
  • 2-D Pressure Loads Defined On Curves
  • Thermal Analysis Enhancements
  • Volumetric Heat Loads
  • Heat Loads On Internal Model Surfaces

  • Results Enhancements
  • P-Level Plots
  • Point Reaction Results
  • FEM Modeling Functionality Enhancements
Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire includes improvements that will be helpful to users of FEM solvers other than Pro/MECHANICA. The most exciting of these is the implementation of an entirely new solid mesher that already has demonstrated performance improvements of up to an order of magnitude!
  • Sharing Of a Common and Improved Results With Pro/MECHANICA
  • All New Solid Tetrahedral Mesher
  • Non-Transient FEM Mode Mesh
  • Hierarchical FEM Model Meshing
  • Enhanced NASTRAN Entity Support
