Changes To The Features

Since day one, Pro/ENGINEER has offered the most powerful array of features for modeling…but until now, they've never been this fast or easy to use.

New Warp Feature
Need to make a global change to a complicated, inflexible model that you inherited from a co-worker? How about tweaking that IGES model sent from a supplier to accommodate a last minute design change. The Warp feature was made just for you. It works on any model geometry, including imported data, a full-feature design, or stylized surfaces to twist, bend, or stretch.
  • Adding Stretch
  • Adding Twist
  • Adding Bend
  • The Shortest Distance...
To work faster and easier, you need more than intuitive icons. That's why workflow is important. Workflow determines how efficiently you get your work done. Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire delivers a revamped workflow, giving you the straightest modeling path. And what good is a short workflow if you don't know what you're going to get? Once you define the bare minimum, with preview geometry, you always get real-time feedback.

    Consolidate To Simplify
In modeling, the fastest and easiest tools are the simplest…but only if they enable you to complete the job. In Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire, we have consolidated 76 Pro/ENGINEER 2001 features down to 23 tools, so it's much easier to find the right tool for the design task at hand.

    Similarity
In Pro/ENGINEER 2001 and prior releases, sets of features actually shared many of the same options, behaviors and references. So, if all the capabilities are similar, why separate them? This newest release allows you to toggle different options within the same feature instead of restarting from scratch. This means simple features are just that--simple.

    Progression
Similarly, many of the more complex features are progressions of simpler ones. The only difference is an added level of complexity. Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire allows you to simply define additional levels of complexity to the same simple feature instead of forcing you to start over again. As a result, you can now build a complex feature starting with smaller and simpler steps instead of one complex one.

    Familiarity Through Consistency
In Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire, you'll notice consistency across the board. Options that appear in multiple features will share the exact same behavior, giving you a better change at recognition. This consistency is valuable, particularly for infrequent users.
