How to delete a corrupt Arbortext Editor preferences file and cache directory

Description

  • The following error occurs when trying to modify a document:
editor.exe: segment violation (signal 11)
  • The following error occurs when publishing to PDF:
ERROR: Failed to create virtual document.
FATAL ERROR: Operation terminated
  • How to delete a corrupt Arbortext Editor preferences file and cache directory
  • File opens up after choosing a workspace, then Arbortext Editor closes with no error message
  • Can Arbortext Styler be updated to add a "Clear Cache" option?
  • Edit > Modify Attributes dialog/window is not popping up or showing
  • Cannot connect to Windchill PDMLink after updating Arbortext Editor
    • Object > Connect... results in pop-up error  
      You last used the PTC Server Connection with an older version of Arbortext Editor.
Therefore, your cache will need to be cleared, which will result in the loss of any unsaved documents. Do you wish to clear your cache in order to connect to the PTC Server Connection?
    • Clicking "OK" repeats the prompt, followed immediately by

C:\Users\<User>\Application Data\PTC\Windchill Integration\.wcAdapter\.localCache\atwncint\.cache\<server>\<user> (The system cannot find the file specified)
  • While deleting a tag after unsuccessfully selecting the Modify Attributes dialog, getting the message: 
     "Cannot delete a tag with "Modify Attributes" open."
  • When trying to open object from Windchill PDMLink get error Message:

  • Can't check in files. Get error messages:

  • Contentref does not work when publishing via SIS worker  
    • A -199 error is seen occasionally
  • Unable to check in objects to Windchill PDMLink from Arbortext Editor
    • Uploading file via web browser UI works
