Overview: Get Started with ThingWorx Digital Performance Management

Prepare for Deployment

Ensure the workers who support and use DPM are ready for go-live.

Before you begin, complete this step:

01. Add End User to Groups

If you have not already done so, add your administrators, application support team, and end-users to ThingWorx. Follow the plan you created to assign each user to the appropriate user groups. Ensure these users have permission to access everything they need within the application.

02. Create a Launch Schedule

Technically, DPM implementation is straightforward, but it requires a focused effort to build a sustained performance management system. Here is a sample schedule of launch activities:

03. Train End Users and Gather Acceptance

Train workers who use DPM. The depth and format of your training varies depending on its complexity.

Ensure your end-users know:

  • How to use the application
  • How does the application affect their job or role
  • If applicable, how to navigate the application on different devices (such as desktop computers or tablets)
  • How to get help from the support team
  • Where to access documentation
  • How to troubleshoot and report errors

Inform end users when the application goes live. Then, follow up with them a few weeks after deployment to get feedback.
