Traceability is mainly driven forward by regulation in the EU, partly in the US, and elsewhere. The first industries impacted were pharma and tobacco. Next is industrial batteries and many more will follow. Compliance is binary—however, traceability also provides good opportunities to drive business value from data and insights.
