Arrowhead fPVN: Next-level interoperability for the industry of the future

Project overview

This ambitious endeavor aims to double industrial productivity by creating autonomous and evolvable production value networks. The project enhances interoperability across industrial ecosystems using model-based engineering and semantic technologies. Autonomous and evolvable interoperability will be achieved through a multidisciplinary approach based on three pillars: the microservices paradigm, the utilization of major industrially accepted data and system models, as well as automated translation between those data models.

OpenSCALING: Advanced lifecycle analysis via open modeling standards

Project overview

The project supports the Green Deal by enabling scalable engineering practices for climate-neutral innovation, focusing on digital engineering tools that help design and validate sustainable systems, with emphasis on simulation, modeling, and lifecycle analysis. OpenSCALING is an important vehicle to work our way towards a holistic bridge between system models and simulation models; in particular, we're focusing on an integration solution between central standards for system models (SysML) and simulation specifications (SSP).

VAMPIR: AI-Enhanced navigation

Project overview

Develops AI-enhanced verification methods for Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) systems, aiming to improve the reliability and safety of satellite-based navigation. The project combines formal methods and machine learning to support critical applications in aerospace and autonomous systems.

Funding organization

This project is supported by the NAVISP program of the European Space Agency, which fosters innovative PNT solutions across Europe.

Bridging AUTOSAR and UML for advanced integration and validation

‍Project overview

Advanced tooling for automotive systems engineering, including AUTOSAR-UML integration, traceability, and model validation. The project supported safety-critical development workflows in compliance with industry standards.

Arrowhead Tools

Project overview

Digitalization and automation solutions for industrial systems, focusing on IT/OT integration and secure interoperability. The project contributed to the digital transformation of European manufacturing, pioneering an interdisciplinary approach bridging model-based systems engineering, semantic technology and service-oriented systems of systems.

The research has received funding from the EU ECSEL JU under the H2020 Framework Programme, JU grant nr. 826452 (Arrowhead Tools project) and from the partners' national funding authorities.

Lowcomote

Project overview

A Marie Skłodowska-Curie ITN project that trained early-stage researchers in low-code development platforms. It explored scalable modeling, cloud-based engineering, and AI-assisted development environments – paving the way towards next-level dynamic verification of multi-domain system models.

The Lowcomote project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No 813884.

EMBrACE

Project overview

Created environments for model-based design and verification of cyber-physical systems, with a focus on IoT and embedded software. The project supported formal analysis and runtime monitoring of complex systems. The project designed a common requirement language and methodology for the co-design of large-scale cyber-physical systems, and explored multi-domain modeling techniques for next-generation CPS lifecycles.

OpenCPS

Project overview

An ITEA Award-winning project that advanced model-driven development for cyber-physical systems. It provided toolchains for simulation, verification, and deployment of embedded systems across domains like automotive and robotics.
