The season to be both grateful and reflective is upon us.
As we look back on 2018 – and look ahead to 2019 and beyond – PTC is at an exciting intersection of technology and industrial innovation.
A leader in today’s hottest technologies, including the Industrial Internet of Things (IioT), augmented reality (AR), additive manufacturing and more, PTC recognizes none of its successes would be possible without passionate, talented, and dedicated employees.
PTC received news this week that the company was named – for the second year running – as one of the Top Places to Work in Massachusetts by The Boston Globe. This year, PTC earned the #6 spot on the list of largest employers (over 1,000 employees), a marked improvement from last year’s #14 debut on the annual survey.
What makes the honor all the more special – and relevant – is it is determined by the people who know these companies best – their employees. The survey seeks the opinions of employees on a broad range of criteria, including company direction, execution, connection, management, work, pay and benefits, and engagement.
The recognition comes at a pivotal time for PTC. In early 2019, PTC will move its global headquarters from Needham, Mass. to Boston’s Seaport District. In the newly-built 121 Seaport, PTC will take its place in the nation’s first-ever Innovation District.
In October, more than 800 employees boarded coach buses in Needham for a celebration at PTC’s new home. While taking in the breathtaking views of Boston Harbor, employees celebrated in style with food, music, and even a surprise flash mob dance.
Jim Heppelmann, president and CEO of PTC, described the move as a culmination of employees’ hard work and ongoing innovation – as well as the start of a new chapter. “It is symbolic as the rebirth of PTC. We’ll have this unbelievable neighborhood, and a fantastic company.”
PTC is honored to have been included in The Boston Globe's annual survey and looks forward to establishing our new home in Boston's Innovation District.
