The newest release of the industry-proven direct modeling software, Creo Elements Direct, is now available! Creo Elements Direct is PTC’s comprehensive system for mechanical engineers and designers who create products using the direct modeling approach to 3D CAD. Direct modeling allows you to quickly and easily create one-off designs, helping to shorten time to market, meet customer demands for new products, and satisfy increasingly complex customer requirements.

In Creo Elements Direct 20.9, you’ll find new enhancements to 3D CAD design in Modeling, and Annotation drawing creation.

Plus, we’ve included updates that ensure interoperability with Creo 13 - the latest release of our award-winning CAD system.

Boost your productivity with these new capabilities. Discover more about each below:

Modeling

Display enhancements in 3D modeling

Creo Elements Direct Modeling now offers additional options to optimize the display of the Creo Elements Direct Modeling user interface.

In the Structure Browser Settings dialog box, you can scale the Structure Browser by pre-defined values. This allows you, for example, to see more components at a glance by scaling the node height to 75%, 50% or 25%.

In addition, there is an initial beta version support to optimize usage of modern high DPI monitors with scaling without negative impact to user interface legibility.

Sheet metal

Enhanced flat view for custom sheet features

The Sheet Metal command, Unfold 2D, and the Annotation command, Create Flat, are enhanced to better support custom sheet features. This enhances support for advanced Sheet Metal feature customizations.

Annotation

Improved standard compliance

The Annotation module in Creo Elements Direct Modeling is updated for improved standard compliance for technical drawing creation. The welding symbols are updated to meet additional requirements for indications according to DIN EN ISO 2553.

In addition, you can now select Annotation objects and drawing geometry by color and line type for greater selection flexibility.

Creo 13 compatibility

Enhanced data interoperability between Creo Elements Direct Modeling and Creo Parametric enables a further enhanced transfer of 3D documentation when importing or opening a Creo Elements Direct model in Creo 13.4.
