Trying to update a CAD Document in Workspace that has been modified and saved but not checked out returns error "can not update the up-to-date object" in Windchill PDMLink

Description

  • When a CAD Document is retrieved in the CAD Software, modified (but not checked out) and saved, it appears in the workspace with status "Modified locally" and "Modifications Not Elligible for Upload".
  • For objects not allowed to be modified by user currently logged in (so "Checkout" action is not allowed), purpose is to restore the CAD Document with the one stored in the database.
  • Error and Warning is given if user proceeds as follows :
    • Select the CAD Document in the workspace
    • Press >File >Update
  • With this approach, object is struckout in the "Update" User Interface.
  • When moving mouse on the red icon with exclamation mark, message says :
Error : Can not update the up-to-date object.
Warning: Object has naming conflict with the object in workspace cache
  • How to disable the "Reuse content in target workspace" checkbox from being auto selected when adding items to a workspace
