PTC Windchill Status tabs shows value in uppercase for the Instance Based Attribute (IBA) set as lowercase in HTML browser and vice versa

Description

  • IBA value set in uppercase in Solidworks session changes to lowercase and vice versa after Check In to Windchill
  • Assigning uppercase IBA value from WWGM HTML browser, value is reflected as lowercase instead of uppercase in the PTC Windchill Status Tab after Check In
  • Steps leading to the behavior :
    1. IBA of type string defined with IBA Name as StringAttribute and has default constraints
    2. Set  wgmclient.ini preference  manage.windchill.status.columns=Status;Version;StringAttribute;State to display StringAttribute in the PTC Windchill Status UI
    3. Launch SOLIDWORKS-WGM in connected mode with primary active workspace
    4. Create a SolidWorks part and save to WFS
    5. Perform Edit->Attributes from WWGM HTML UI and provide the value of IBA StringAttribute as "ABC"
      • User can see the value "ABC" in the PTC Windchill Status StringAttribute column
    6. Check Out the same part in SolidWorks session
    7. Perform Edit->Attributes from HTML UI and provide the value in small case "abc" and click Ok
      • Value "abc" will be seen in the PTC Windchill Status  StringAttribute column

    8. From PTC Windchill Status UI select the part and perform Auto Check In
    9. Notice value of StringAttribute changed to uppercase ABC
