Classification Keyword search is not working as expceted when the Display Name of Classification Node or Classification Attributes contain multiple words in Windchill PartsLink

Modified: 07-Mar-2024

Applies To

  • Windchill PartsLink 12.0 to 12.1

Description

  • Classification Keyword search is not working as expected when the Display Name of Classification Node or Classification Attributes contain multiple words
  • Keyword search in Classification Explorer is not returning expected results when the Display Name of Classification Node or Classification Attributes contain multiple words
  • The Classification Keyword Search is not working as expected as it's documented in Windchill Help Center after setting the property com.ptc.windchill.partslink.freeform.wildcard.enabled to true in wt.properties file to enable the use of wild cards
  • Considering the Classification Nodes with Display Name Hex Screw, Hex Nut 1 and Hex Nut 2, below are the observations:
    • When specifically searching for any Node using Display Name of that Node in Keyword Search, the Search always brings the Classified Part for Classification Node Hex Nut 1 and not Hex Screw or Hex Nut 2 no matter the words entered in Keyword textbox
    • There is no way to use Classification Attribute and/or classification node's display name together with Attribute value to get appropriate results:
    • Information mentioned in Windchill Help Center and article CS26717 doesn't work or is applicable when multiple words are used in Display Name of Classification Node and Classification Attribute
