ThingWorx Password Reset function does not work when MailServer is not configured properly

Description

  • ThingWorx(TW) Password Reset function is enabled and configured for an Organization however clicking Reset Password button on Form Login page does not send email to target user and below error is observed in ThingWorx log

Error sending email to the following invalid addresses: null
Error retrying to send an email to valid recipients after invalid ones caused a failure, or failure to send an error email about this event: 501 5.1.7 Invalid address_
Error retrying to send an email to valid recipients after invalid ones caused a failure, or failure to send an error email about this event: 550 5.7.60 SMTP; Client does not have permissions to send as this sender_
  • Follow steps of "Password Reset" section of TW8 or TW9 Help Center to enable and configure Password Reset function
  • Mail Extensions is Imported and the MailServer Template Thing is created and configured
