Windchill Workgroup Manager: Checkin/Upload fails with error "Empty File is not allowed" for an AutoCAD drawing containing Image file attached as an External Reference

Description

  • Upload /Checkin fails for an AutoCAD drawing which contains image file as an External Reference with message Empty File is not allowed  in Event Manager
  • Steps leading to the Issue:
    1. Launch WWGM and AutoCAD in connected mode
    2. Create a new drawing in AutoCAD
    3. Insert a png image using AutoCAD's XREF Manager, ensure image file is listed in XREF Manager UI
    4. Save the file to workspace, verify .dir folder is created in the workspace in Windows explorer and shows proper file size (non-zero) for the png file
    5. Execute Auto-Checkin from AutoCAD
    6. Notice checkin failure with error Empty File is not allowed and Reload the XREF from AutoCAD shows the status of Image file as Unreadable
