Windchill PDMLink: "Populate Part Uses Occurrence Utility" is not able to successfully update Saved As WTParts with EPMDocument Master.

Modified: 03-Dec-2020

Applies To

  • Creo Parametric 4.0 to 7.0
  • Creo View Adapters 7.0 to 7.1
  • Windchill PDMLink 12.0
  • Windchill Workgroup Managers (WWGM) 12.0.0.0 and above
  • CATIA V5

Description

  • The "Populate Part Uses Occurrence Utility" is used to update part usage occurrence links with Reference (OID) of the EPMDocument Master for WTParts that are present in the structure due to Image or Contributing image association.
  • It helps customer to take advantage of Multi-state Representable in Dynamic Visualization, without any need to rebuild the associations for Legacy dataset.
  • This utility is supported from Windchill 12.0.0.0 and above releases for legacy data(generated in Windchill release prior to 11.2.0.0) authored in Creo Parametric and CATIA V5 Authoring applications. However, this utility does not support the image associated or contributing-image associated Creo Parametric or CATIA V5 Saved As Part Structures in Windchill.
  • Multi-state Representable in Dynamic Visualization: Enables dynamic part structure to utilize representation from the associated EPMDocument that is responsible for the WTPart occurrence within the Part Structure. These representations will typically come from EPMDocuments that are Image or Contributing-Image associated to WTParts present in the Part SSaved As Part copies forward the default representation from source Part however the properties for sub components nodes in such representations still points to OIDs of source WTParts(this is existing limitation). The utility “Populate Part Uses Occurrence Utility” which depends on these properties to update the EPMDocument Master for WTParts does not find the right OIDs hence fails to update.tructure.
       Note:
  • Populate Part Uses Occurrence Utility supports Creo Parametric for Windchill 12.0.0.0 and above
  • Populate Part Uses Occurrence Utility supports CATIA V5 for Windchill 12.0.1.0 and above
