How Does Time and Date Synchronization Work with Mitsubishi Q Series PLCs?

Description

To enable time and date synchronization for a specific PLC in the Mitsubishi Ethernet Driver, right-click on the device and select  Device Properties | Time and Date Synchronization . Once enabled, a series of transactions will be sent to the PLC at the selected time. Each synchronization event is comprised of four transactions. The first two events reset the PLC relays, the next event sets the PLC registers with the date and time from the host computer, and the final event turns on a relay to set the PLC time from the registers. The Q Series registers support specifying the time down to the second. There is also some latency because the time will be sent in one transaction and then enabled in the next. The synchronization is not broadcast, and will only happen for the devices in which it has been enabled. Note: Time and date synchronization is disabled by default.
