Publishing of Drawing fails at Generating thumbnail followed by timeout error in Windchill Visualization Services

Description

  • Part and assemblies publish successfully however, Publishing of Drawing fails at Generating thumbnail followed by timeout error
  • WVS Job Monitor log shows the following error:-
" Generating thumbnail
Timeout exceeded waiting for a reply from the CadAgent - Time out
Drawing Processing Returned: $ERROR$ Timeout exceeded waiting for a reply from the CadAgent - Time out
CadAgent Returned: $ERROR$ Timeout exceeded waiting for a reply from the CadAgent - Time out "
  • Worker log freezes at Generating thumbnail
  • AutoCAD drawing file fails to generate thumbnail and job status shows 'EXECUTING'
  • WVS Job Monitor for AutoCAD files shows the following message:-
Authoring Application: AutoCAD
AutoCAD Drawing Conversion
Start Store Drawing Viewable Files
  • Thumbnail creation fails with Remote Thumbnail Worker and WVS Job Monitor freezes at followed by timeout error:-
    •  Retrieving Additional Files
  • No any errors captured in the trace log
  • Unable to generate thumbnails for drawing files when being converted to DXF format with the error "proe2pv Error:13023: Thumbnail generation failed" in the worker.log
  • Thumbnail generation works fine with pview_batch publishing
  • Unable to see any thumbnails created for Autodesk Inventor IDW files, the job completes but there is no thumbnail created
  • While most of Creo Parametric *.drw files are successfully publishing, some are failing to publish.
    • The error messages in worker and helper logs do not seem descriptive enough to determine the cause of the problem
