Changes to the installation of Creo View 6.1 (or later) Client and Adapters on a Windchill server

Description

  • Starting with Creo View 6.1.0.0  new media item is available for installation on the Windchill Server
  • The new installation media will be used only to install Creo View Client to the Windchill server for distribution (via Windchill Server Quick Links > Software Downloads)
  • The changed media will contain a light weight installed package for Windchill server
  • The names of the new media on the PTC Software Download Page are as follows:

  • Creo View / Creo View Adapters 6.0.0.0 or earlier versions will continue to follow the method of providing separate media (platform dependent)
  • This article documents the changes to how Creo View 6.1, or later, releases of the Creo View Client and Adapters products are deployed on 11.2.0.0 and earlier releases of Windchill server
  • Windchill PSI will fail to install Creo View 6.1, or later on 11.2.0.0 and earlier releases of Windchill server
  • Windchill PSI fails to install Creo View client or adapter with error

  • Installation of a Windchill maintenance release will report errors installing Creo View:
