  • Arbortext Products 8.0.0.0 fail to start due to unsupported java virtual machine when using latest JRE 1.8.0_221
  • Following Help Center topics recommend wrong Version:
Extract from Help Center documentation:
You'll need to install a JRE to provide Tomcat with a Java Virtual Machine. Download and install the 64-bit version of the Java SE Runtime Environment 8.0. The Oracle Java SE download page has the latest release available: www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index-jsp-138363.html
This release of Arbortext Publishing Engine was tested using release JRE 8.0 Update 181 (also known as 1.8.0_181), the latest available at the time of testing. If you choose a later release, it's likely to work for Arbortext Publishing Engine, but it can't be verified without formal testing.

Arbortext Publishing Engine does not ship with a Java Runtime Environment (JRE). Arbortext Publishing Engine, requires you to obtain a JRE from Oracle (www.java.com) and install it.
Arbortext Publishing Engine will work with Java 8, build 202 or higher.
The environment variable APTJAVAVMPATH specifies the path of the Java Runtime Environment installation. If this environment variable is set, it takes precedence over a set javavmpath command.
