Value of display_tol_by_1000 in 3D Dtl file is unexpectedly read from 3d_inch.dtl instead of dtl file configured by config.pro option model_detail_options_file in Creo Parametric

Modified: 26-Apr-2018

Applies To

  • Creo Parametric 3.0 F000 to M160
  • Creo Parametric 4.0 F000 to M040
  • Creo Parametric 5.0.0.0

Description

  • In Creo Elements/Pro 5.0 (and earlier), behavior controlling way how tolerances were displayed in ISO models (millimeters or microns) was driven by config.pro option display_tol_by_1000
  • Starting from Creo Parametric:
  1. it is now controled by 3D DTL file as documented in article 109290
  2. config.pro option still exists but is intentionnally not effective anymore (refer to article 94001 for further information)
  • Upon retrieval of legacy models however, value of display_tol_by_1000 in 3D Dtl file is unexpectedly read from system file provided by PTC below:
<Creo Parametric Load Point>/<datecode>/Common Files/Text/3d_inch.dtl
  • This behavior is not expected when using config.pro model_detail_options_file pointing to another 3D ISO DTL File
