Description

  • How to run Solr by root user in Windchill 11.1 F000?
  • When trying to start Solr with root user, it reports following warning and failed to start:
<SolrServer>/bin/Index_Search_Server.sh start
WARNING: Starting Solr as the root user is a security risk and not considered best practice. Exiting.
         Please consult the Reference Guide. To override this check, start with argument '-force'
  • When trying to create Solr cores with root user, it reports following warning and failed to proceed:
<SolrServer>/solr/bin/solr create -c wblib -n wblib -d <SolrServer>/solr_schemas/wblib/
WARNING: Creating cores as the root user can cause Solr to fail and is not advisable. Exiting.
         If you started Solr as root (not advisable either), force core creation by adding argument -force
