Description
- Tomcat does not start as a service in Linux but starts up using ./startup.sh
- As per security recommendations, general (other) users should not have read access to $CATALINA_HOME or $TOMCAT_HOME
- When revoked access for others (general) users, Tomcat does not start with command
systemctl start <tomcat.service>
- Permissions are showing root as the owner of tomcat folders:
drwxr-xr-x 9 root root 160 MMM DD 13:52 8.0.33
