Description

  • Default authentication mechanism in ThingWorx Platform should be more reliable
  • HTTP Basic Authentication should be deprecated in favor of a more reliable authentication mechanism for ThingWorx
  • HTTP Basic Authentication is not working properly and requires a user to login multiple times
  • Having to login multiple times even though there is nothing wrong with username or password.
  • After typing correct password (use copy/paste to ensure accuracy), login prompt still asks for credentials a second time
  • Login prompt keeps returning after the session is timed out in ThingWorx
    • When the user does not use the application for a certain while, the login is asked again
      • This time, the login prompt comes multiple times
  • ThingworxBasicAuthenticator (BasicHTTPAuthenticator) requires multiple entries of user credentials to authenticate into ThingWorx Composer
