Description
Problems may occur if PTC ApexAda is installed by the "root" (superuser) userid
- When checking licenses during post_install, an error message appears, similar to:
Invalid (inconsistent) license key - When post_install attempts to compile Apex predefined views, an error message appears, similar to:
*** "/apex_dir/base/ada/lrm.ss/sun4_solaris2.ada95.5.2.0.rel": View cannot be used in this operation because its permissions do not allow modification by the current user - Permission problems are encountered when attempting to patch or maintain Apex.
- Users have permissions problems when trying to use Apex.
- Problems occur if Apex is installed on a disk that is not physically connected to the host (network mounted file system). Network mounted storage is often desirable, for example if you need to install Apex for multiple platforms.
