Modified: 18-Nov-2019

Applies To

SolidWorks All Releases

Description

  • While saving an Assembly to WLD, having Virtual component present in it, gives a message that some of the references are outside the WLD, thus creating ghost object.
Steps:
  1. Launch SolidWorks and create an Assembly. Insert New Part from Insert > Component > New Part. Place the part in the assembly and save the assembly
  2. During save, Select 'Save Internally' and complete the operation
  3. The component does not get created in Windchill, but does get saved internally to SolidWorks
