Error message "Can't Connect to License Server" appears during startup of the PTC RV&S (formerly Integrity Lifecycle Manager)

Description

  • PTC RV&S (formerly Integrity Lifecycle Manager) server fails to start with start up due to error(s):
    • Unable to request application license. Unable to startup Security Service mks:name=License not started due to errors: License problems: Can't Connect to License Server (-15, 3002) (Connection timed out: connect)
  • PTC RV&S /FSA/Proxy Server does not start after one of the following actions occurred:
    • Server has been upgraded or moved to new operating system (OS)
    • network/firewall configuration changed
    • license file has been replaced with a new one
  • Server comes up with license error during startup:
    • Shutdown requested by Configuration service. Reason: Unable to request application licenseUnable to startup Security Service: Service mks:name=License not started due to errors: License problems: Can't Connect to License Server (-15,3002).
    • Not a valid license server system host. Exiting.​
    • “Shutdown requested by Configuration service. Reason: Unable to request application licenseUnable to startup Security Service: Service mks:name=License not started due to errors: License problems: Can't Connect to License Server (-15,3002) <licenseserverhostname>.”
  • Server error during startup or when users attempt to access items:
    • "MKS124789: You require an Integrity Client license with configuration management capabilities"
  • FLEXnet server comes up with following error in it's debug.log.txt:
    • FLEXnet Licensing error:-1,359
      System Error:2 No such file or directory
  • Server not started due to the error:
    • * * * * ERROR * * * * (0): WrapperSimpleAppMain: Shutdown requested by Configuration service. Reason: Unable to request application licenseUnable to startup Security Service: Service mks:name=License not started due to errors: License problems: FLEXlm version of client newer than server (-83,3027)
  • On Dashboard panel in Flexnet Web Portal, following Alerts or Error messages are shown :
    • Vendor daemon down: MKS
      No such feature or vendor does not exist: MKS
