Frequently asked questions

How is Asset 360 different from ServiceMax Core?

ServiceMax Core is built to execute service work—it’s technician-centric, focusing on managing work orders, scheduling, dispatching, and ensuring service is completed efficiently. Asset 360 is designed to elevate and extend ServiceMax Core by providing enterprise-wide asset intelligence—it unifies asset data across PLM, ERP, CRM, and service systems to support strategic planning, proactive service, and cross-functional decision-making.

Doesn’t ServiceMax Core already do Enhanced Installed Base Management?

Somewhat. ServiceMax Core provides installed base visibility primarily to support field service execution. It gives technicians and service teams access to asset history, location, and entitlements so they can complete jobs efficiently. It also allows for technician-driven IB capture campaigns.

On the other hand, Asset 360, on the other hand, delivers enhanced installed base management by aggregating and validating data from multiple enterprise systems—PLM, ERP, CRM, FSM—to create a unified, lifecycle-wide view of the asset, enabling strategic use cases.

I already have a Master Data Management (MDM) solution, how does Asset 360 help me?

While MDM provides a strong foundation by aggregating and governing master data across systems, Asset 360 goes further by cleansing and validating installed base data, enriching data with context, and activating data for strategic use cases.
