Tips & Tricks: Moving Multiple AFX Profiles in Creo 4

Written By: Aaron Shaw

In Creo Advanced Framework Extension (AFX), moving one profile is easy. Moving two or more can be tedious…until now. In Creo 4.0, moving multiple profiles in Creo AFX now is as easy as moving one. Here’s how you do it:

Select Profiles

You can select one or more profiles before or after you start the Move command. Let’s select a couple of profiles before we start.

To pre-select profiles, hold Ctrl and select multiple profiles.

Selecting two profiles before clicking Move.

Move Profiles

Now let’s move the profiles in one step.

  1. In the Profiles group on the Framework tab, click Move.
  2. Select more profiles, if you like.

     Multiple profiles selected

Selecting three more profiles after clicking Move.

  3. Click a positioning icon in the Move section of the dialog.

You can move the profiles relative to their references, for example top left, center middle, bottom right, etc. You can also move by specific values, align with reference geometry, or rotate the profiles. Once you move the profiles, you'll see a preview:

    .Previewing after moving profiles back.

  4. When you're happy with the position of the profiles, click OK.
