How to: Seamlessly Remove Pipe Segments in Creo

Before finalizing a design, it can be smart to take a final look at your pipe segments, pipe cuts, and welds. You may be able to optimize manufacturing costs by reducing the number of pipe cuts.

 

To make the process easier, Creo includes the Remove Pipe Segment tool. This feature allows you to easily investigate alternative routing paths to minimize the number of pipes and subsequent cutting and welding operations.

How to

To remove a pipe segment follow these steps:

  1. Click Piping > Edit Segment.
  2. From the drop-down menu, select Remove Pipe Segment.
  3. In the graphics area, select the pipe segment and fitting you want to remove.
  4. Use Shift+Select to choose the boundary of the move. Note, you can change your selection using the References details.
  5. To automatically rotate fittings and adjust after a segment is removed, click Options > Enable Fitting Rotation.
  6. To automatically create connection joints at your chosen break points, click Options > Enable Automatic Connect.
