We are thrilled to announce that PTC was named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Industrial IoT and Applications 2024 Vendor Assessment.

According to the IDC MarketScape, “The ThingWorx platform is a cornerstone of PTC's industrial IoT strategy, enabling organizations to gather, contextualize, and orchestrate real-time data within the digital thread. ThingWorx provides a core IoT platform for developers and business professionals to create IoT applications and solutions that address common industrial use cases.”

IDC MarketScape vendor analysis model is designed to provide an overview of the competitive fitness of technology and suppliers in a given market. The research methodology utilizes a rigorous scoring methodology based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria that results in a single graphical illustration of each supplier’s position within a given market. The Capabilities score measures supplier product, go-to-market and business execution in the short-term. The Strategy score measures alignment of supplier strategies with customer requirements in a 3-5-year timeframe. Supplier market share is represented by the size of the icons.

We believe PTC consistently outpaces the market by expanding its loyal installation base and showcases the company's commitment to IIoT value delivery and customer excellence.

“PTC excels in industrial connectivity, particularly through Kepware's capability to communicate using various industrial protocols”, noted Carlos Gonzalez, the authoring analyst of IDC Research’s report. Additionally, PTC's customer success management is highly rated by clients, offering regular calls, assistance, and expert access to help users develop their IoT projects. The training resources are also highly regarded, featuring an online university designed to assist with user onboarding.”

Chris Baldwin, General Manager of PTC’s Industrial IoT segment, shared his reaction: “We're excited about this recognition, which shows our commitment to the ThingWorx platform and the impact that IIoT technology can have on manufacturers. This report validates what PTC’s customers need from an IIoT solution to take digital transformation further – and ThingWorx is uniquely positioned to address those needs. We’ll continue to make the ThingWorx platform and applications more usable, flexible, scalable, and secure, enabling leading manufacturers to achieve higher efficiency, increased throughput, and equipment availability.”

PTC is excited to announce this achievement alongside our latest Windchill Navigate release, powered by ThingWorx. This is part of a broader PTC strategy to enhance product data access for the enterprise and remove collaboration barriers by extending the Digital Thread across engineering and manufacturing domains.
