PTC has joined the Catena-X Automotive Network e.V. With this move, PTC is strengthening its commitment to open, interoperable, and sovereign product data within the automotive industry’s value networks and is supporting OEMs and suppliers in translating Catena-X standards into scalable enterprise solutions. The goal is to further develop Catena-X standards in a practical manner so that they can be used in real-world engineering environments and simplify cross-organizational data exchange.

Catena-X connects OEMs, suppliers, and partners in an open, collaborative data ecosystem. The focus is on product, geometry, and software data from development, which is transformed into robust data models and processes. Standardized, secure exchange processes make it possible to utilize this information across organizational boundaries. With PTC’s solutions for PLM, CAD, and ALM, data can be structured, versioned, and linked throughout the entire product lifecycle. Key use cases include the digital product passport, the product carbon footprint, as well as traceability and quality management.
