If same attribute is configured for CAD Document and WTPart types, explicit mapping between CAD Document and WTPart erases value on the WTPart in Windchill PDMLink.
Modified: 04-Sep-2025
Applies To
- Windchill PDMLink 9.1 to 13.0
Description
- Parameters values are not transferred from Creo part to Windchill part during creation / check in using Auto Associate Parts to CAD Documents option
- Component Parameter changes its value randomly on CADDocument and WTPart
- Existing WTPart attribute fields are removed during check-in with Creo CAD Document
- How to change older WTPart attributes to ensure the info and attribute values are kept and not lost after a check-in of CAD Document?
- Iterating a CAD Document where there is an Owner or Contributing Content link between the objects and where the WTPart has an IBA value but the CADDocument does not, results in the WTPart IBA value being lost
- After associated and built by a epmdocument, IBA value of wtpart will be changed from "N/A" to blank value
- The parameter values are reflecting in the Details page of CAD part only, but not reflecting in Details page of WTPart
- User have mapped the CAD parameter values to WTPart attribute.
- Performing actions like the following result in the WTPart IBA value being replaced with a <blank> value from the related CADDocument:
- Create and type a string global attribute MATERIAL on both CAD Document and WTPart types
- Create a CADDocument
- Do not populate the MATERIAL attribute with any value
- Do not set a designated parameter MATERIAL in Pro/ENGINEER or Creo Elements/Pro or Creo Parametric
- Check in the CADDocument
- Create a WTPart and explicitly associate it with an owner or contributing content link to the CADDocument created in steps 2 & 3
- Edit the WTPart attributes specifying a GOLD value for the MATERIAL attribute and check in
- Post check in, the attribute value of MATERIAL in the WTPart is GOLD and the value of the attribute in the CADDocument is <blank>
- Check out and check in the CADDocument
- During build of the WTPart from the CADDocument (due to the owner or contributing content link), the WTPart value is removed
