Search in Navigate side by using the "saved searches" in Windchill, sometimes the search results are different from in Windchill

Modified: 19-Jun-2018

Applies To

  • Windchill Navigate (formerly ThingWorx Navigate) 1.6.0 to 1.6.1

Description

  • Search in Navigate side by using the "saved searches" in Windchill, sometimes the search results are different from in Windchill
  • 2 patterns to reproduce the issue
  • Pattern 1:
1. Create a new lifecycle state(ReleaseForward) with enumcustomize tool.
2. Create a new lifecycle template(ReleaseForward) with the created state. For example, ReleaseForward > Released > Cancelled.
3. Copy the lifecycle templated we created in step 2, named ReleaseForward2. Change one of the states, like ReleaseForward > Released > dropped, so that the two templates can be different.
4. Create a CAD document (CAD A.1), then reassign the "ReleaseForward" lifecycle template to it.
5. Revise CAD A.1 to B.1, then reassign the "ReleaseForward2" lifecycle template to it.
6. Search in Windchill with criteria: keyword=*;revision=latest, CAD(B.1) will be searched.
7. Save this search in Windchill.
8. Search in Navigate by using the saved search in step 7. CAD(A.1) and CAD(B.1) both will be searched.
  • Pattern 2:
1. Create a new lifecycle template, set the revise check box in the second state.
2. Modify epmdocument's OIR to set using the lifecycle template we created as default
3. Create two CAD documents in Windchill
4. Promote the two CAD to the second state
5. Revise the two CAD. Then, we have axcell_end.prt(B.1) and axcell_2.prt(B.1)
6. Search in Windchill with criteria: Keyword=axcell;( (State = 'Released') AND (Revision = 'Latest') );Type=CAD Document;Context=All Contexts"
7. We can get axcell_end.prt B.1 and axcell_2.prt B.1
8. Save this search
9. Search in Navigate by using the saved search
10. We get 3 objects: axcell_2.prt B.1, axcell_end.prt B.1 and axcell_2.prt A.1
