Integrity Lifecycle Manager / PTC RV&S Client will not start on Windows

Description

  • Integrity Client startup fails with one of the following errors:
    • Attempt to launch MKS Integrity Client Timed out
    • JVM_Bind error
    • Another client instance is already running
    • Cannot install service pack over current version
    • Attempt to launch MKS Integrity Client Failed. Check path specification to MKS Integrity Client.
    • Attempt to launch Integrity Client timed out. To solve this please try the following:
      - Verify that the user you are logged in as has read and write permissions to the Integrity Client install directory.
      - Make sure the Integrity Client install directory is the very first entry in the path
    • Unhandled Exception c0000005 immediately after attempting client launch
    • Malformed \uxxxx encoding.
    • [STDERR] Can't create cache file!
    • MKS124813: Could not create the requested user interface: The icon should not be null.
  • When calling an Integrity client command by full path without client bin directory at start of PATH variable, the following error is thrown:
    • Failed to connect to Integrity Client. Ensure that another Integrity Client
      is not running under the context of your configuration file (by default
      IntegrityClient.rc) and that the IntegrityClient.port specification is valid.
    • Error accessing port and/or authentication data
  • Cannot connect to Integrity Lifecycle Manager application
  • Connecting PTC Requirements Connector (WRC) to the RV&S server with Client Integration checkbox marked fails with error:
    •  Attempt to launch Integrity Client timed out
