Potential model corruption and crashes when using "Copy"/"Paste" of surfaces across assembly components in Creo Parametric 7.0.1.0
Modified: 27-May-2021
Applies To
- Creo Parametric 7.0.1.0
Description
- Potential model corruption and crashes when using Copy/Paste of surfaces across assembly components
- Premature exit when copying a chain of surfaces (e.g. round & tangent surfaces) between parts in context of an assembly
- Source and target parts/assemblies could become corrupted after selecting surfaces containing rounds or chamfers from the part/sub-assembly (SOURCE) in an assembly context & creating surface copy into top-level assembly or another part/sub-assembly (TARGET)
- Example workflows leading to possible corruption/exits:
- In following example, the SOURCE.PRT containing a quilt with round & chamfered surfaces is assembled on the left, and solid part with round & chamfer features on the right
- Source part and target assembly might become corrupted after selecting the surfaces along with surfaces created by round, chamfer, or selecting the quilt and creating the copy feature by Copy > Paste operation at assembly level
- Source and target parts might become corrupted after selecting the surfaces along with the surfaces created by round, chamfer, or selecting the quilt from the SOURCE.PRT, and creating a copy feature by Copy > Paste operation in another part
- Source part and target assembly might become corrupted after selecting the surfaces along with surfaces created by round, chamfer, or selecting the quilt and creating the copy feature by Copy > Paste operation at assembly level
- This issue does not exist in Creo Parametric 7.0.0.0
