Product Overview

The Lufkin Modbus driver provides a flexible and scalable solution for connecting, managing, monitoring, and controlling Lufkin Rod Pump Controllers, Variable Speed Drives, Injection Well Controllers, and Progressive Cavity Pumps. Client communications are managed through a robust platform that supports an array of open standards, proprietary communication protocols, APIs, and automation system interfaces. Kepware improves operations and decision-making throughout all levels of an organization.

  • Fixed an issue timing out when the PLC connects, but refuses the request.

  • Fixed an issue where the Request Timeout was incorrectly used instead of the Connect Timeout when the driver was not connected.

  • Added a user-configurable delay that allows the device to populate dynagraph tags before the server tries reading the values.

  • Expanded the Connect Attempts feature introduced for Ethernet Encapsulation in the 6.6.348.0 release to honor the connection timeout when not connected.

  • Added a Connect Attempts setting to specify the maximum number of tries. The new setting is in the Timing group of device properties available when the connection type is Ethernet Encapsulation.

  • Increased the channel limit from 256 to 1024.

  • Resolved an issue where array indices of multi-dimensional arrays of card tags were transposed.

  • Added the new "First word low in 32 bit data types" option (located in the Data Encoding tab of Device Properties). The default setting is the same as the legacy behavior, which is checked. Projects saved prior to this update will be loaded with the default setting.

Fixed a minor issue where Channel level Statistics tag "_MsgResent" value was erroneously incremented instead of the "_MsgSent" count in certain situations for read attempts following a read failure. This situation could cause the "_PercentReturn" value to be greater than 100% but did not affect the value of "_PercentValid".

  • Updated the driver with the new Connection Sharing feature.
  • Resolved an issue where the Standard, Start, and Pump Up coil addresses were configured with the five card buffer instead of the single card buffer. Also corrected an issue where the Last Shutdown card was using the first of the five card buffers instead of the last of the five card buffers.

Fixed a Communication Serialization defect that prevented the driver from releasing communication control when there were many memory and/or Write Only tags with scan rates.

  • Created a new serial driver to support Lufkin Automation devices using the ELAM and Modbus protocols.
