Product Overview

The Allen-Bradley DF1 device driver works to provide data exchange between clients and Allen-Bradley PLC5(20)/SLC500/MicroLogix compliant PLCs via DF1. The DF1 driver has support for complex function blocks in the MicroLogix 1200/1500 PLCs. Half Duplex operation supports wide area radio modem links for all PLC types. Kepware automatically optimizes your data acquisition based on client demand. Data integrity is ensured with our extensive error handling.

This driver does not require a Rockwell Automation RSLinx license.

  • Fixed an issue timing out when the PLC connects, but refuses the request.

  • Removed non-inclusive terms out of respect for users of our software.

  • Fixed an issue where the Request Timeout was incorrectly used instead of the Connect Timeout when the driver was not connected.

  • Expanded the Connect Attempts feature introduced for Ethernet Encapsulation in the 6.6.348.0 release to honor the connection timeout when not connected.

  • Added a Connect Attempts setting to specify the maximum number of tries. The new setting is in the Timing group of device properties available when the connection type is Ethernet Encapsulation.

  • Added Chinese language support.

  • Added German language support.
  • Added Japanese language support.

  • Added a section to the manual describing how to configure modules not present in the module list.

  • Fixed an issue where the driver produced a syntax error during tag validation if the data type was not supported. Some clients add items with a set data type regardless of the address. The driver now responds with bad type, allowing the driver library to validate again with the default type.

  • Updated the help file to include instructions on communicating with RSLogix5000 controllers.

  • Fixed a write issue with LBCD arrays where the driver was writing to every fourth Dword instead of every fourth byte.

  • Added NAK handling for the half-duplex and radio modem link protocols. This situation may occur if communicating to a device configured for full-duplex.

  • Added an option in the driver called "Allow Float access to Micrologix/SLC N Files".
