PTC Codebeamer’s certifications assure that our company, processes, and products meet our commitment to excellence and help our customers tackle tool qualification and validation procedures.
Proving safety and fitness- for- purpose in your development tools is a daunting task. PTC Codebeamer’s certifications are awarded by independent certification bodies for tool qualification and validation (including ISO 26262, IEC 62304, FDA 21CFR820, 21CFR11, DO-178C, and more).
TÜV product certification: “Trusted Tool” for safety-critical development
PTC strives for excellence with all of our products. Codebeamer ALM’s version 8.0 (Codebeamer) received its first TÜV Nord “Trusted Tool” certification in August 2016 and renewed for version 9.5 in April 2020. This certification lets users building safety-critical products know that Codebeamer is a software development solution that supports ISO 26262:2011 and IEC 61508:2010 requirements. Based on the assumed use cases, Codebeamer was awarded a maximum confidence level of TCL 3/ASIL D or SIL 3.
TÜV Nord conducted an audit covering a full revision of product planning, requirements and change management, development, code quality, validation and verification processes, testing and product quality assurance, and release management. This “Trusted Tool” certification assures users that Codebeamer is compliant with the highest safety standards and can be expected to successfully pass tool validation exercises.

In 2018, Codebeamer began implementation of an organization-wide quality management system, as per ISO 9001:2015 requirements. PTC’s quality policy, quality manual, and setup standard operation processes were defined to cover all our quality-related activities. PTC systematically analyzes any operational risks or non-conformities, defining Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) and improvement actions to provide high-quality services to enhance our customers’ satisfaction.
Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange (TISAX)
Codebeamer was awarded the Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange (TISAX) label in 2023 with the scope ID S08TPX and the assessment ID ACK2X5. TISAX is a common acceptance of auto industry information security assessments.
As TISAX and TISAX results are not intended for the general public, we take great care to protect sensitive, confidential information and follow the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA ISA)’s question catalogue on information security standards.
