Configure Tracing Among Your PTC Engineering Products

Collaborate among engineering disciplines by linking data across the participating systems – Windchill PLM, Windchill RV&S, and/or Windchill Modeler

In this service, PTC configures the subscribed OSLC linking among Windchill PLM, Windchill RV&S and/or Windchill Modeler. It may also include IBM Rational DOORS NG.

How It Works

This is a 24 hour engagement and includes the following activities:

  1. PTC installs ThingWorx Flow, specifically for the Windchill OSLC Client
  2. PTC configures the OSLC links among the participating products (Windchill PLM, Windchill RV&S, Windchill Modeler, and/or IBM Rational DOORS NG)
  3. PTC “trains the trainer” with Windchill administrators for using the tracing and querying capabilities

The following criteria must be completed before this service can be consumed:

  • Windchill PLM must be installed and configured if it is a part of the traceability solution. This installation can be, but is not required to be, on the same server as the other OSLC complaint components that will be linked.
  • ThingWorx must be installed specifically for ThingWorx Flow, for solutions involving Windchill PLM. For on-premise environments, the ThingWorx Foundation and ThingWorx Flow installers can be downloaded from the PTC Software Download Page.
  • Windchill RV&S (formerly Integrity) must be installed and configured if it is a part of the traceability solution.
  • Windchill Modeler must be installed and configured if it is part of the solution. Reference the Windchill Modeler Installation Guide for more information.
