PTC was honored to recently host House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee Chairman Ken Calvert at its Boston, MA headquarters. During the visit, Chairman Calvert met with PTC executives and toured its Customer Experience Center to see the vital role digital engineering software is playing in national security.

Digital engineering is used throughout the U.S. government and the defense industrial base to design, manufacture, and operate critical systems, including launch vehicles, spacecraft, aircraft, missile defense, ground vehicles and surface fleets. Software capabilities from PTC are utilized across the lifecycle of these products to accelerate deterrence.

For government stakeholders, that means faster introduction of a new platform or increasing operational readiness of fielded assets. For industry stakeholders, it means scaling production, lowering R&D costs and accelerating product development.

“I appreciate the opportunity to visit PTC and see firsthand the positive impact American digital engineering software is having on national security,” said Chairman Calvert. “Firms like PTC play a vital role in innovation and economic development. In particular, I was impressed with how deeply PTC contributes to the US space enterprise.” Chairman Calvert is the Co-Chair of the Congressional Aerospace Caucus and recently introduced the Space Infrastructure Act, which will increase safeguards for space systems.

As the Pentagon rotates to an era of software-defined systems, digital engineering will play an increasingly strategic role in the national security of the U.S. and its allies. PTC looks forward to continued collaboration with Chairman Calvert as he advances funding priorities for defense modernization.
