Managing material properties when a composite feature that is defined by referencing another one contains a material with the same name in Creo Parametric
Applies To
- Creo+
- Creo Parametric 12.4.0.0
Description
-
When creating a reference laminate feature, if the material that is used to create one or more laminate objects in the source composite feature already exists in the part of the target composite feature, the material properties of the laminate objects are derived from the local material without a warning
-
The system by default uses material properties of the same-named material that exists in the target composite feature regardless of whether or not the material exists in the source composite feature
-
When a material that is used to create a laminate object is missing or deleted from the source composite feature, the material with the same name in the target composite feature is used to derive the material properties of the laminate object
-
When the source and the target composite features contain the material with the same name but different properties, the material from the target composite feature is used to derive the material properties
-
Example:
-
In the source composite feature, PLY_1 is created using the material LTE800_36 with 0.5 as a cured thickness value
-
The target composite feature contains a material with the same name LTE800_36, but with 1 as a cured thickness value
-
When you create a reference laminate feature in the target composite feature, the PTC_MTRL_CURED_THICKNESS parameter shows 1 as the cured thickness value for PLY_1
