Introduction
  • In Creo Simulate Structure and Thermal, elements need to be generated in the part or assembly as the first step in the analysis. In Integrated mode elements are automatically created using AutoGEM as part of the analysis. In most cases AutoGEM will complete a properly built model without any user intervention. In certain situations, including models with geometric inconsistencies or small features, AutoGEM needs to be assisted in order to successfully complete the mesh.
  • If AutoGEM cannot create elements in Integrated mode, the analysis will stop and an error message will be written to the summary file, {study}.rpt. Detailed AutoGEM status messages are saved in the log file, {study}.stt.
  • When AutoGEM is unsuccessful in creating elements, there are numerous techniques the user can try to assist AutoGEM. While most of these require Independent mode functionality and are described in the Suggested Technique for Troubleshooting AutoGEM Issues in Creo Simulate , several steps can be taken to ensure that the Creo Parametric geometry is acceptable for meshing. This technique includes helpful tips on finding and fixing difficult to mesh geometry in Creo Parametric.
  • When the structure is complex, meshing often fails, and the structure needs to be simplified to solve the problem. If the meshing is completed, the solution often fails and the problem cannot be found.
    Also, are there any grid settings that can make it easier to fill up small broken surfaces, making the grid easier to succeed, or where can I find the cause and location of the failure?
