Modified: 02-Nov-2020
Applies To
Kepware Server (formerly KEPServerEX) 5.19.467.0 to 6.8
ThingWorx Kepware Server (legacy) 8.0 to 8.4
Description
Problem: iFIX reports "Unable to locate driver image table" during attempt to use the PDB interface (iFIX's IDS driver) to KEPServerEX. Solution: 1. Ensure that the server was installed when iFIX was already on the PC. This is required so that the server installer will detect that the PDB components need to be installed. To verify that the PDB components of KEPServerEX have been installed, click Tools | Options and confirm the iFIX PDB Settings tab. 2. Make a zero-byte file called "FIX.ids" in the following or equivalent folder for the iFIX install: for iFIX 4.0, the default is C:\Program Files\GE Fanuc\Proficy iFIX\PDB and for iFIX 3.5, the default is C:\Dynamics\PDB . 3. Make a zero-byte file called ".ids" in the PDB directory of the iFIX project. For , substitute the iFIX node name. 4. If the last two solutions do not work, change the permissions so that everyone has write permission to these two files (including the system). Note: For information on making a zero-byte file in a certain folder, refer to the instructions below. Open the folder in Windows Explorer. In the file list, right-click in the whitespace and then select New | Text Document . This will make a zero-byte file called "New Text Document.txt." Rename the file as desired. To verify that the file has the correct extension, uncheck the "Hide extensions for known file types" setting located in the View tab of the Windows Explorer's Tools | Folder Options .
