Allow for long, mixed case passwords when using IUPDCMNUSR command in Implementer

Applies To

  • Implementer 11.0 to 12.3
  • With regards to the Implementer communications user profile (shipped as MWIPROD), beginning with Implementer 11.0
    • Must use the IUPDCMNUSR command to change the user ID and/or password
    • Password is now encrypted when stored
    • Password is no longer stored in the IMCMNUSR data area
  • The user ID and password for the Implementer communications user profile must be identical on the Implementer host and all Implementer receivers

Description

  • IUPDCMNUSR command now used to change IMCMNUSR data area user name and password, since password encryption available in 11.0
  • Want the Implementer communications user profile (shipped as MWIPROD) to have long and/or mixed case password
  • Getting User ID/Password invalid for MWIPROD is invalid error in Implementer server startup log after using IUPDCMNUSR command
