These release notes contain information you should read before installing and running Implementer 12.6. The information includes features and fixed items since Implementer 12.5.

Each issue listed in these notes has a PTC reference number associated with it. If you reported a specific issue to PTC, you will be notified when it is fixed.

These release notes are current at the time of the product release. To get started, Implementer 12.6 is available by downloading Implementer Update from the PTC eSupport Portal and using the "Setup Install/Upgrade" option to initiate the installation or upgrade from a PC. 13384084 A potential problem has been corrected that could previously cause environment builds for remote environments with remote source to fail with message MCH3601, causing the remote job to go into a MSGW status.

An environment build will no longer fail with error message RNQ0202 - 'The call to BLD_CHECKS ended in error (C G D F).' if the source library defined to the environment is empty.

13251666

A bug was fixed in the checkout process so that a valid revision will always be assigned at checkout. When previously checking out a member/object with item versioning enabled, the revision for the item could potentially be set as an invalid number, such as '  n'. If this lock was then promoted, the promotion request could then fail with error message "RNQ0100-Length or start position is out of range for the string operation.". 
 
13295203 New substitution variable #LCKCMT has been added for both check out and promotion special commands. This substitution variable will be replaced with the item-level lock comment entered at check out when creating the lock. When multiple locks for a single item are being promoted at the same time, the lock comment for the first lock found will be used.
Existing substitution variable #LCKUSR has been changed to always return a value during check out, regardless of whether the lock has been created yet or not. Examples of this would be a Before-Checkout or After-Fail Checkout special commands.

13215585 Fixed an error that that previously caused an RNQ0100 halt when a project value was entered in the middle of the default project field on Workbench before user prompted the Create Request panel with option 11 against one or more items on Workbench.
The create request process will also now validate that the project used is not a completed project.

13734782 The 'Use Implementer Server' flag has been removed from the Implementer Server Setup panel. If any functionality needs to connect to Implementer server, it will do so. If Implementer server is not active, then appropriate messaging will be sent to the user. 
 
14508798 Implementer Server Setup panel will only accept valid values (1-65535) for the Server and Adapter port fields.
Port values will also be validated when starting the server with the ICTLSVR command, resulting in a clean error message if invalid ports values are found in the database.
 
14514430 Log4j in the Implementer Server has been updated to version 2.17.1.
 
14794923 When Implementer Server service is installed on a Windows or Linux platform, a firewall exception will be added by default.
 
14836675 The Architecture (ARCH) parameter has been removed from the ICTLSVR command. 64bit architecture will be assumed.
 
14883155 OpenJDK in Implementer Server has been upgraded to Java 11.0.20.1+1.

13199357 An Implementer Update window sizing issue has been resolved that could previously cause the list of product libraries to not be visible when attempting to register a product library. This rarely occurred when using Windows screen magnification.

7369619 New substitution variable #MDLOBJLST has been added for both check out and promotion special commands. This substitution variable will be replaced with the 2E model object list value being used for the check out or promote.
 
13314443 Fixed an issue that caused 2E items which were locked with an action of Delete to not be included on a promotion request when the item's model object list is promoted.
 
13800720 When a new 2E model object list is selected during the check out or create request process, the project value on the Check Out or Create Request panel will be replaced with the value defined to the model object list if the selected model object list has a project defined to it.
 
13811393 When assigning a project value to a model object list, closed projects will not be allowed. A validation check will also now occur to verify if the current user has capabilities to override their defined default project value.

A change was made in the lock delete processing to fix an issue which could potentially leave 2E database records for ACP items in a state that incorrectly results in the next check out of the item forcing a lock action of CREATE instead of CHANGE when the item already exists.
Please note that after this update, it is still possible to run into this issue. This could happen if any 2E ACP locks were deleted prior to this update. If this occurs, please contact PTC Support for manual steps to remedy the situation.

6726813 Cancel request functionality has been consolidated so that functionality will be the same regardless of how a request is canceled. The ICMPLRQS command will not allow a secondary request to be canceled if it's primary request is not complete/canceled. Menu options will allow a secondary request to be canceled if it's primary request is complete/canceled.
 
13241082 When maintaining an existing request, any previously entered request comments will now be visible and editable from the Request Maintenance panel.
 
13295181 New replacement variable #RQSCMT has been added for promotion special commands. This substitution variable will be replaced with the first line (79 characters) of comments entered for the promotion request.

Minimum supported version of RDi is now 9.6.0.7. Implementer RDi plug-in has been certified against RDi 9.8.

The following is a listing of all database files changed in this product release. This list may be useful in determining if any user exit programs or other programs that access Implementer database files might need to be recompiled after upgrading Implementer.
