  • Clients go offline attempting to communicate with the Windchill server
Attention - Connection to server is unavailable!
Working with a workspace, which is not connected to a server, is limited.
Saved files will become out-of-synch with workspace cache.
When server becomes available, save again any object which is out-of-synch with workspace.
Tools-Synchronize is also possible, however, will overwrite files saved while disconnected.

  • Switching the client network connection from wireless to wired connection causes issues with Windows network routing that results in the client machine not being able to resolve the IP address of the Windchill server:
    • Start up the Workgroup Manager, connect to http://<server>/Windchill, register the server, create and save a model with a CAD Application
    • Put the machine to sleep
    • Undock the machine
    • Enable wifi network adapter and connection
    • Machine goes to sleep
    • Wake up the machine
    • Open a web browser and log into the network via a VPN connection
    • Confirm the Workspace iss available
    • Machine goes to sleep
    • Dock the machine
    • Wake up the machine
    • Attempt to refresh the Workspace fails with an offline message, the client machine does not have a route to other machines and DNS lookups fail
