One-of-a-Kind Class Experience Inspires the Next Generation of Augmented Reality Superstars

Augmented reality (AR) technology is more than the latest and greatest in industrial innovation: It’s transforming the way companies design, manufacture, operate, and service products. In fact, PTC research shows AR is recognized universally as a top business imperative by leading analyst firms.

For enterprises undergoing digital transformation initiatives, the time is now to integrate AR into the technology roadmap to drive operational efficiency, improve worker performance, and solve the skilled labor shortage.

To usher in the next generation of AR “superstars,” Mike Campbell, Executive Vice President, Augmented Reality Products, PTC, is partnering with Stripes Learning on an AR master class in PTC’s Boston-based headquarters.

The course, limited to 15 exemplary product managers, engineers, and designers, will invite participants to explore AR applications that take advantage of the new technologies digitizing large, complex physical spaces. Participants will get to know the work patterns of industrial designers, technicians, and manufacturers – looking for ways to create 10x improvements in a key dimension of their work experience through AR.

Campbell says the course is for students who are “excited by new innovations and applying technology in meaningful ways.” Ideal participants will demonstrate curiosity, a relentless desire to improve the world around them, and a willingness to fail, learn, and apply what they’ve learned in the workplace.

Kicking off September 25, the master class will run from 6 – 8 PM on Wednesdays for six weeks. The course will take place in the PTC Reality Lab, the company’s research and innovation hub for emerging technologies such as AR, artificial intelligence, industrial Internet of Things, and more. Participants will come away from the class with AR expertise, feedback and mentorship from a master practitioner, and the opportunity to network with a small group of innovators who will shape the future of AR.
