Complete your build on Azure.

PTC has many options for additional Windchill-specific help, which are the Support team, your PTC Customer Success Manager, Success Management, or any of our well-qualified partner service providers. Before you begin, complete these steps:
If you decided to upgrade while on-premises and your customizations have been stabilized, back up your system. This ensures you have a plan to go back if necessary. Test this data transfer in a staging environment to ensure you understand how to move the package from server to server.
Moving Windchill data, and specifically moving the content (vaults), is not a complex task but one that often requires a significant amount of time to complete. Every cloud provider should have services to move large data sets as well as guidance on the best approaches, given your current infrastructure and data storage solutions. In planning this transfer, one should validate these services and best practices against your company’s current security and IT practices and policies.
If moving data sets larger than 500GB, planning appropriate lead time is vital. This will avoid costly delays in migrating your system while that data transfers to the cloud platform. PTC has had many experiences with this situation which indicate a good lead time for data sets greater than 500GB is 3 to 4 weeks in order to fully extract and transfer that amount of data to the cloud platform. Please note this is an estimate and can vary due to network conditions or IT/security limitations requiring data to be transferred within certain procedures or policies.
After the instance has been successfully restored in the Azure environment, verify all existing data so you are ready to begin functional testing. To enable end to end testing, deploy integrations to test systems (e.g. ERP, CRM, MES...) according to your existing test and DevOps plan. After you turn on the integrations, verify the data is accurately flowing from the asset, tool, and system as expected.
