Industrial companies recognize the value of transforming the service chain, but most struggle with how to drive service optimization across the enterprise.

PTC was named a Leader in two recent IDC MarketScape reports entitled, IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Manufacturing Service Parts Management Applications 2020 Vendor Assessment, and IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Manufacturing Warranty and Service Contract Management Applications 2019–2020 Vendor Assessment.

Let’s take a closer look at each of the reports:

An “established complement of expertise that can support complex environments”

Recognized for its strengths including an end-to-end set of capabilities and expertise that supports complex environments, the IDC MarketScape highlighted, “Servigistics goes beyond basic planning needs to ensure complicated service supply chains can be managed without disruption or conflict. This allows PTC to support a variety of industries subverticals, which demand the utmost rigor with regard to service parts needs. Also, the product was built specifically for the aftermarket that addresses the specific needs of this market.”

IDC MarketScape vendor analysis model is designed to provide an overview of the competitive fitness of ICT suppliers in a given market. The research methodology utilizes a rigorous scoring methodology based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria that results in a single graphical illustration of each vendor’s position within a given market.

The Capabilities score measures vendor product, go-to-market and business execution in the short-term. The Strategy score measures alignment of vendor strategies with customer requirements in a 3-5-year timeframe. Vendor market share is represented by the size of the icons.

“A proven provider of end-to-end capabilities within warranty and service contract management…”

According to the report, “PTC is a proven provider of end-to-end capabilities within warranty and service contract management as the iWarranty product enables manufacturers and service organizations to meet the changing needs of a more customer-focused business model. PTC's ability to connect service data with other enterprise systems like Windchill and Vuforia products allows for manufacturers to close the loop between product quality and service innovation. The ability to take real-time insights from the field, or a warranty claim and power design improvements, or product quality changes is an area that has long riddled manufacturers as historically these functions are often siloed off. “
