As featured sponsors, PTC proudly supported the latest in the PI Apparel World Series in Chelsea, NYC. Over two days, PTC showcased its comprehensive Retail Innovation Platform, and spoke on the value of creating a connected, digital supply chain.
On the 17th and 18th June 2019, we proudly sponsored the latest instalment in the PI Apparel world series of events. PI Apparel New York took place at a brand-new venue in New York City’s fashionable Chelsea neighborhood, on 17th and 18th June 2019. The PTC Retail team was present for both days, demonstrating FlexPLM – the retail industry’s most widely-used PLM solution – as well as the other cutting-edge technologies that make up PTC’s Retail Innovation Platform, including Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality, the Internet of Things, and more.
PI Apparel New York 2019 came hot on the heels of PTC’s own LiveWorx 2019 event, which closed just days before in the company’s hometown of Boston, MA. As part of the most attended event in LiveWorx history, the retail breakout track of LiveWorx 2019 tackled key technology topics head-on. Digital product creation, supply chain connectivity, Industry 4.0, and A.I. were all discussed in engaging panel discussions.
Many of the same themes were also on the agenda at PI Apparel in New York, with delegates dropping by the PTC booth to discuss best practices for integrating 3D with PLM, the potential impact of the new Brand-To-Factory initiative, and the value of the ThingWorx Retail Connector for seamlessly linking business systems and laying the foundations for digital transformation.
As well as manning a busy booth, PTC’s retail experts also held a 40-minute session on the first day of the event, titled “How to Leverage PLM to Create a Connected, Digital, and Transparent Supply Chain”. Building on the latest research from Gartner and Supply Chain Insights, the session shone a spotlight on the drivers for supply chain visibility, which 96% of all retailers see as a major business concern. Delivered by Brion Carroll (VP, Global Business Development for Retail) and Aaron Moore (Major Account Executive) the session was well-attended and packed with thought-provoking insights into ways brands and retailers can improve speed and agility, and obtain greater transparency, by digitally connecting their design processes to their strategic factories.
“We were proud to be featured sponsors of PI Apparel New York, and the organizers put together a typically great event, attended by a who’s-who of retail decision-makers,” said Bill Brewster, Senior Vice President and General Manager of PTC’s Retail Business Unit. “North America remains a critical strategic market for us, so our retail experts relished the chance to show off the latest developments to our industry-leading FlexPLM solution, as well seizing the opportunity to talk to an incredible audience about our revolutionary brand-to-factory initiative.”
A committed thought leader in the retail space beyond its presence at events like PI Apparel and LiveWorx, PTC has recently partnered with independent retail technology analysts WhichPLM to publish a handbook
designed to help brands and retailers interested in PLM to obtain the best results from their technology investments.
