PTC recently participated in the GE Minds + Machines show in San Francisco where thousands of IoT executives and thought leaders gathered to learn from the most innovative Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) companies from around the world. Michael Campbell, executive vice president of PTC’s Technology Platform Group, shared the stage with Nate Arnold, vice president of global supply chain digital technology at GE, to present “Driving Service Efficiency with Analytics and Augmented Reality.”
During the presentation, PTC’s Campbell walked the audience through an IoT analytics and augmented reality (AR) demonstration that was met with thunderous applause. Many attendees called Campbell’s demo the best demo they saw at the show. See it here:
In conjunction with the show, PTC and GE Digital announced plans to expand their strategic alliance, first established in 2015.
According to the announcement, “Working with GE, PTC plans to develop an optimized version of elements of its ThingWorx technology suite that would integrate tightly with Predix, making it possible for customers to enjoy the full power of ThingWorx with their Predix system. In turn, GE would deploy ‘ThingWorx for Predix’ together with Predix for its own internal manufacturing and service processes. The collaboration will explore making the complete range of ThingWorx capabilities available in ‘ThingWorx for Predix,’ including capabilities from PTC’s ThingWorx, Kepware®, and Vuforia® solutions, enabling GE and its customers to accelerate the development and deployment of Predix-based solutions. ‘ThingWorx for Predix’ would leverage the platform capabilities in Predix to store the underlying asset models and run analytics at scale.”
